Data recovery involves recovery of data from media that may not be performing well enough after your expectation. At this very stage there may be some problem with that media. The problem may be a minor one which can be resolved automatically or with the help of your minimum effort. If you can identify the problem in naked eye it is worth mentioning. Otherwise you need to take the help of an expert in this particular field. This is really a specialized field which can help you to recover important data. Data loss is very much expected at any stage. Sometimes this happens mysteriously, you do not have any idea about the failure of the system but you lose your valuable data. Nothing you can do to recover them for further use. Only a data recovery company can help you in such a situation. Sometimes you can also expect your system to collapse. It may start with some minor problems which can be fatal in future. Then either replace the media or start backing up data consistently.
If you call a data recovery company to retrieve your important data they may claim huge amount depending upon the status of the damaged media. The process of recovering the data is very much complicated and most of the times the companies fail to recover all the data from the crashed system too. The data recovery companies need to consider different parameters and multiple factors before starting their business which makes this job really costly.
Why you should contact a company instead of doing it yourself?
1. You may be in hurry to get your system recovered shortly. You can not make any experiment right at that moment. What next? No other alternative other than visiting a data recovery company. They can do it quickly to save your time and further utilization of data.
2. You may take help of software available in the market to do the recovery job successfully. But most of the software is not so efficient to recover all the data. Some important data can be lost as a result of that. It may hurt you badly. SO it is better not to do any experiment with important system data.
3. The data recovery companies use some proprietary tools for the purpose which are very costly indeed. So it is better to go for the recovery company rather than tempting to buy one.
4. Sometimes the data recovery companies need to replace the fragile parts of the system with another one which requires another device with same batch number as well as of same company.
5. The companies can ensure you what amount of data are recoverable. If you have found that the recoverable data is of no worth to you, you do not move forward in the process.
Until and unless you are an expert in the field always take help of an expert to do the recovery process effectively in stead of sparing of your hard earned money.

Tips about How to Choose Data Recovery Software
Data loss means some of the data in the computer is no longer accessible. It could also mean that part of the data of a file is lost so the file could not be opened anymore. Data loss may occur due to crashing of hard disk or corruption of files.
Moreover, if the computer is attacked by viruses, data loss could happen and people may not be able to use the data anymore. But the silliest way of data loss is accidental deletion of some of the files in the computer. Yes, you would surely scream when you accidentally delete some of the important files in your computer, right?
Luckily, these data could actually be recovered using data recovery software. The software would have different tools to help users to recover the files. Even though the files have been deleted in the recycle bin, the software would still be capable of recovering the files.
Choosing the right data recovery software is important. Sometimes, the poor data recovery software would further damage the hard disk of the computer and would make the files inaccessible. Originally, the files could be recovered but using the wrong data recovery software would make the data have permanent damage so that the files could no longer be recovered.
There are several things that you could pay attention to when you are going to find the reliable data recovery software. First, you should see if the producer of the software is experienced. Experienced companies would produce quality software. If they are expert in making this kind of software, you would be able to see positive reviews on the internet. The users’ comments would be guides for you to select the right software indeed because they have used the software and they know the pros and cons of it.
Besides, you should make sure that the software would use different strategies to recover the data. The good programs would use different ways to recover the data instead of just one. This would increase the chance of successful recovery of data.
When you visit the website of the data recovery software producers, you usually could get the trial version of the software. You should make sure that you have used the trial version and you are satisfied with the quality of the software before you make a purchase. Otherwise, you may purchase the software which actually could not help you and it would be a waste of money.

Different Ways for Data Recovery
In recent years, the use of computer is more and more popular in the world. Many people would have a computer at home and some of them may have several computers at home. However, the use of computer actually brings a lot of problems. One of the problems is the data loss. As you know, sometimes your computer may be attacked by virus or there may be crash between programs so some of the data of files become inaccessible.
In order to deal with this kind of problem, you may employ different methods depending on the situation. If the hard disk of your computer is corrupted in a way that you could not get access to the operating system, you may take the hard disk out and use connection cables to connect the hard disk to another computer. In this way, the hard disk would be treated as the USB drive and you could use the healthy computer to view all the files in the corrupted hard disk and save them to achieve the data recovery purpose.
Of course, this kind of data recovery has limitation. For instance, you could successful conduct the data recovery process only when you have two computers at home and you have the necessary connecting cables and stuff to recover the data. If you only have one computer at home, you may still fail to recover the data in this way and you may need to send your computer to the repair shops and pay money for the repair work.
But you can actually use other ways to recover the data. If you purchase some of the reliable data recovery software, you would have a CD which could help you boot the computer. With this CD, you could still switch on and run your computer even though the hard disk is corrupted. And when you successfully get access to the operating system, you could use the software to recover the data and save the files in other devices before you try to format the hard disk.
Sometimes, data recovery software could only help people get the files back. The hard disk may still be faulty and formatting work is needed. Therefore, besides getting the data recovery software, you are advised to back up the files in your computer regularly so that you would not need to cry every time when your computer is out of order.

Data recovery from hard drives
Hard Drives are mechanical devices and are subject to failure. Several reasons can help this failure or breakdown to come suddenly and as a result of that your important data stored in the hard drive get corrupted. You may be confused how data recovery can be done, whether it is possible or not, is your hard drive in a situation from where a small chance of recovery is possible? You can have very little idea at that situation. It is lot better and quite expected from you to backup important data regularly so that a mere crash in hard drive does not bring crash in your personal or business life.
Why data recovery?
Basically the need of data recovery is to secure data from being corrupted by virus or malwares. Unexpected crash in the system, electricity problem, and serious system error can damage data for ever. A human error is also responsible for the corruption in data.
What are the measures?
Data recovery is the measure to recover digital data from being corrupted by different above mentioned reasons. If the system is physically damaged it may not be possible to retrieve the data but the data after a system crash can be recovered quite successfully. Here there are some ways how to retrieve data from a crashed system-
1. Manual Recovery
2. Through the help of data recovery software
3. Some special tricks by an expert
At times when the hard drive of your computer is highlighting some nonsense notice it is quite evident that some scratches are there inside the hard drive. It is not dead yet. Only some portion of the drive is corrupted. You can recover your important data quite easily. Data recovery software is very fruitful in such situation. But if the situation goes beyond that you have no other alternative than to send the hard drive to expert data recovery center for the recovery of data in some professional way.
How to avoid data recovery?
1. The best solution is back up. Back up important data day by day so that one day failure puts no effect.
2. You can use multiple hard drives, at least two hard drives are always recommended. The RAID configuration inside the drives can help to recover data from the corrupted drive.
3. If your hard drive starts showing some minor problems replace it with a new one. This may cost you some bucks but sometimes data are more valuable than money.
4. Always take the help of an expert for data recovery purpose. Your inexperience can lead the drive to permanent failure.

Data Recovery for USB storage Device
USB mass storage devices are considered to the most compact and affordable memory devices these days. The advantage of these devices is mobility. One can move the device from one place to another, from one PC to another quite easily and successfully. The devices adjust easily to any USB port systems. That is why sometimes these UBS devices are called Universal Data Transporter. As these devices do not have any magnetic media inside, the chance of failure is less in comparison to other storage media. Hence though sometimes the devices are subject to failure most of the times you can recover data yourself.
The mechanism of USB drives is different from their counterparts. The devices can tolerate rash handling up to certain limit. But it is observed from market study that poor manufacturing quality results in failures most of the times. Virus attacks, extreme heat can damage the device in no time.
Possible reasons of failure
1. Virus or malware attack.
2. Physical damage to the device
3. Electric shock
4. Problems in USB port
5. Rash handling
Steps to data recovery
1. Although the devices are reliable still you can not expect it to be 100% safe. So backup is always vital. You can dump data in your hard drive or burn them to CD or DVDs to keep your device away from sudden crash.
2. May be your USB device is not recognized in your PC. Try it in other PC possibly in different operating system. Sometimes due to virus effects or problems the USB port of your PC creates problem. This can be easily picked out and you need not send your device to expert center.
3. You can try some open source or trial software for data recovery purpose. Some of the software are really helpful.
4. You may join some forums and ask experts about your problem. One of them may help you to recover data from your USB device.
5. If some files are simply deleted from the device they can be easily restored by some system restoring software.
6. If you are still unable to recover data from the device do not give up hope. Experts are there to recover data from highly complicated part of the USB devices. You just contact some experts to retrieve the valuable data. If the devices are not seriously damaged they will recover the data most of the times for you just to help you in proper time.

Review: Disk Doctors Windows Data Recovery
So here I go - another review of a high-end Data Recovery Software. This one is about "Windows Data Recovery" by Disk Doctors, which I purchased not long ago in order to try out a product from the upper price class ($129.99). I was especially curious about how this one would compare against DT Utilities' "Recover Lost Files", which is my favorite at the moment because of it's great performance while having a price tag of only $59.99 (see the review below).
PROs:
- Just like "Recover Lost Files", "Windows Data Recovery" is able to perform indexing of deleted files on all kinds of mediums you can plug into your computer
- Image file creation is supported, which is great for preventing data loss
- When opening the program, a wizard guides you through the whole process, making "Windows Data Recovery" easy to use for everyone
- The scanned files are displayed in a way resembling the windows explorer. A 10-year-old could operate this program. Just Great in terms of ease of use!
- The test every program I review has to undergo was mastered really well. Disk Doctors' program was able to recover all the files that were not overwritten, yet. DT Utilities' software performed a tiny bit better though
- Searching capabilities contain a pretty wide range of possible alternatives concerning scanning speed, data type, etc. More than enough!
CONs:
- The high Price ($129.99)
- If you only need to scan a NTFS data system, you may consider buying the cheaper version of this program - which then can only handle NTFS though (same goes for FAT, FAT16,FAT32). Somehow strange.
- The English version of their website was clearly translated by a program. So, if you don't understand something on there, you've gotta call them.
Summary:
Concerning the performance, this program is simply great. I found the ease of use especially comforting. I would definitely recommend this software to anyone, who is not very experienced when it comes to the use of computers!
See you soon!

Review: DT Utilities Digital Rescue Premium
Remember my last post about how a good Data Recovery Software should look like? Well, this little program here, published by Data Transfer, fulfills every single aspect nearly perfectly.
PROs:
- Digital Rescue allows you to look for pretty much any imaginable filetype: music, text, emails, photos, etc.
- The program is idiotproof! It's opening window lets you choose from "Recover lost files, Recover lost email and Permamently delete data". Every one of those options then gives you additional step-by-step information in how to go on
- I was surprised about how many of the files I tried to recover, have actually been retrieved! This program gets nearly every file you may ever have lost. Definitely one of the best recovery rates in the niche
- The search also is one big plus speaking for this software. Just feed the program the info you still remember about the lost file and it will find it for you (most probably)
- FAQ, Tutorials, Help section., phone or email support - what more can you ask for?
CONs:
- Is not able to recover files from a network
- Can't create images of your drive
Summary:
Digital Rescue by DT Utilities is a top notch software when it comes to recovering deleted computer data. With almost no negative aspects, this is the program of your (and my) choice!

Be prepared for my next review! ;D
